Hello! My name is Charlotte and this is my first blog post ! I feel I should have started one years ago but better late than never. I'm really excited to share my love for painting, yoga and the natural beauty of the seasons living here on the south west coast of Devon, England. It's the 1st of October and with the Autumn equinox now passed it signals the end of the unseasonably hot dry summer we've also experienced with wild fires across the UK and Europe . With the wild summer flowers making way for the early ripening blackberries, now withering in the hedgerows, I took a day to walk with the family across Dartmoor- my spiritual home! We walked near the village of Holne and up onto the moor on a small drove road. I was particularly drawn to the shape and variety of trees and berries ruggedly adapted by the winds. Rowan trees, Sloes and Hollys with yellow berries, all adding to the emerging colour palette of Autumn against the whispy blue skies . The moor is a special place of rare and ancient beauty with a new discovery each time we visit. I hope you enjoy the colours as I'm taking inspiration for further paintings. We ended our walk with a visit to a cozy old pub called The Church House Inn at Holne. I've added the link below to their facebook as its definitely worth a visit.
